Individual Counselling

How can counselling help me and my situation?
Life can be challenging, but by becoming more aware of our thoughts, emotions, and perceptions, we can make meaningful improvements in many areas of our lives. This greater self-awareness helps us develop healthier emotional responses, more constructive behaviours, and greater resilience.
Individual counselling is primarily based on Cognitive Therapy (CT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Counselling is not only for those experiencing diagnosable mental health conditions—many people seek support simply to navigate life's challenges, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behaviour that lead to lasting personal growth.
Areas I help with
Depression, Bipolar Disorders and Mood impairments
Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Trauma - working through it and coping afterwards
Grief and Loss - assisting in acceptance of the loss and adjusting to the new situation
Work Related Stress - coping with stress in high stress environments
Adjustment to new situations - including occupational, relational amongst others
Sexual Health - improvement of sexual relationships and treatment of sexual problems including erectile dysfunction and low libido
What to expect
The counselling process begins with an initial session where we explore the challenges you are facing, your goals for therapy, and how we can work together to support your wellbeing. This first meeting also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether you feel comfortable moving forward with counselling.
If you choose to continue, sessions are typically 50–60 minutes in duration and are scheduled at a frequency that best suits your individual needs and circumstances. Both in-person and online counselling sessions are available for your convenience.
